Conference in "formal style"
The Friday intercultural conference was pretty good for me in many points including the diversity of topics that were presented as well as the way the presenters presented their topics. I was personally impressed by the topic entitled “Student – Teacher relationship on Facebook”. This kind of topic appears to attract more attention to people nowadays, and everyone is struggling to be on Facebook. However, I was much disappointed specifically when I reflect the real situation in my home country. This is because at least everything that was presented in the conference seemed to have connection with internet access, which is the big problem in my country (Tanzania). The majority of people have no access to internet and there are power shortages – Thus, Facebook as a communication tool and a learning tool cannot be practically implemented, though the idea is good.

A city tour
Some new students joined us for a visit around Kaunas, from many countries, like France and Turkey. This visit, for most participants was the second for a few sights of the city of Kaunas, but this time with a guide prepared to inform all participants in order to fill in some of the historical facts. This time, participants got to know some of the stories behind the statues located throughout the city, as well as a section of the city, at the very top, where there is a unique view of Kaunas

Evening party
The “Rafes” festival was created by students of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Kaunas some time ago. It always takes place in May and lasts only one day, but it is the biggest student / university festival of all Lithuania.
This year there were four stages, with different kinds of music to suit all local students, as well as those who come from other surrounding cities around Kaunas, and the rest of Lithuania. Even the teachers mark their presence! This event serves not only to entertain the local students, but is also a meeting for a great variety of international students.
