Our unofficial opening from the first arrival day continued and we were getting to know each other more thoroughly. We selected the initial activity of exploring Kaunas, its landmarks, temples, culture, street artists and history of religion. We gave presentations on this topic later in the day focused mainly on the three major Abrahamic religions in Kaunas.

Thomas was sharing with us
For many, the most remarkable part of the day was an opportunity to meet a local entrepreneur, Thomas Andrew Foley, in the scented candles business Baltijos Kvapai. His natural self-selling skill and rhetorical abilities simply drew everyone’s attention. We could only admire his initial speech and then a quite extensive discussion about his experience with intercultural business was held. The imprint will last and might influence our freelance attitudes. His idea about the business and concerns about the concept seemed to be pretty ambitious due to the danger of his idea being copied from the beginning. But with the flow of supplies coming from the USA, patented materials and most importantly, the absolutely “no artificial approach”, created a place in the market for him. The “no artificial approach” was clearly coming from his heart and conviction.
