Amber Museum
The destination of this visit was the Palanga amber museum. The scene of the museum was amazing, the Palanga Botanical Park with all of its beauty. The museum was established in the residence of a Lithuanian duke, who was enchanted by the amber and that is the reason why his palace became the home of the „Lithunaian Gold”. Amber has always had an important role in the history Lithuania, as the Baltic Sea is the most important source of amber and the Amber Road passed through the country, and the town of Palanga as well.
Nowadays, the tradition of amber is still alive, it is proved by the fact that most Lithuanian women have amber jewellery and when they get married, the groom gives the bride some jewellery of this material. Written by

Edited by Éva Miklós Does culture matter in relations? The lecture „Does culture matter in relations?“ showed that it is all about the relationship. The attitude to others depends not on the culture, but on ourselves. We have three types of relationship: with God, ourselves and others. But if we want to have a proper relationship with other people, at first we need to recognize and accept ourselves. This way we can accept different people. This is because everyone is different and a person is formed by family, society, friends and their cultural environment. And we can know ourselves only in relationships with others. We need to learn how to accept others as different but in the same time as similar. Because of this, there are three steps to know each other better, become honest with each other and accept ourselves and others. First of all is the establishment of a relationship, where you can just meet the other person. The second is opening, which means that you should try to tell a person what you want to say from your heart. The next step is being myself. At this stage you can be totally yourself and show your attitudes and opinions to the other person. The last step is recognition. This means that now you know yourself and you are able to accept different people.
